About Us

Vision

To be a highly competitive independent school for both learners and parents at UMkhanyakude District.

Mission

To socially and economically empower our learners to become confident contributors to the society and their economy.

Our Purpose

The school was established to address:

  • Learners’ inability to write with passion, count with understanding, and read for meaning.
  • Lack of critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Classroom overcrowding (70–100 learners per class in public schools).
  • Declining social values such as respect, honesty, empathy, and resilience.
  • High unemployment rates and youth disempowerment.

Sambulo Christian School provides affordable, quality education that maximizes learning capacity, critical thinking, creativity, and sports participation — empowering learners to excel in a globally competitive world.

Our Story

Sambulo Christian School was established by Mrs. JM Danisa, a retired Deputy Principal of Madwaleni High School after 30 years of service in the Department of Basic Education. She witnessed the challenges in both primary and high school education and, driven by her passion and experience, decided to establish an independent school in a rural area that would bring the same benefits and standards enjoyed by learners in urban areas.

The school was initially supported by Christ Embassy Mtubatuba, which provided a small portion of land to build four classrooms as a start-up for her community vision. The school name “Sambulo” was chosen in honour of her first grandson, Prince Sambulo Nkosi.

Operations began in 2016 with 9 learners, one teacher, one security guard, one driver, one school bus, and ten desks. By 2019, enrolment had grown to 276 learners, and by 2024, 390 learners were enrolled.

In 2018, the school acquired permanent land through the Ingonyama Trust (Land Title Deed Farm Reserve No.3 No.15822) spanning 9182m². Construction of the permanent campus began immediately, including 18 classrooms, 3 laboratories, 18 toilets, a multipurpose hall, and administrative offices.
